- David Garcia wrote in with this interesting bit: "Back a few years ago, I was listening to the BBC World Service
on shortwave radio. They featured "The Return of A.J. Raffles", the Victorian-era dramas of the
expert burglar and cricketer. The title role was played by Jeremy Clyde. There were a series of
six half-hour radio dramas, followed by one more hour-long drama. The Raffles stories were
written by E.W. Hornung, the brother-in-law of Arthur Conan Doyle (creator of Sherlock Holmes),
and produced for radio by Gordon House. I still have the letter Mr. House wrote me in response
to my postcard. I had mentioned Jeremy's singing career in my letter, and Gordon joked about how
Jeremy still reminds everyone of that and sings around the studio all the time."
